I'm wondering if all these weird mis-matches is Al Haymon trying to get all his fighters paid somehow.

I mean, why was this organised so late? The kid is one fight away from the biggest fight of his career and you fit him into a rushed slot against a dude who won't last a round?

I understand they're not trying to go for anything risky with a Stiverne fight on the horizon but an even bigger risk is to throw Deontay into that kind of fight when he been matched so weak. I honestly feel Wilder is heading for a disaster and it's mostly GBP's fault. They have matched him very, very poorly. They needed to find someone durable, who would take him 6-8 rounds. I mean, we don't even know if he has skills or stamina or mental fortitude. And a fight with Stiverne is not the one to test those out properly for the first time.

There's low risk and there's risk to the opponent's health. I get that he doesn't want to endanger his big shot but there's no value in this fight at all.
