I think your assessment is wrong I believe most want to the see the fight as long as its not for the middleweight title. This match up was discussed some time ago before Cotto moved to middleweight and is a good in between fight (not for the middleweight title) leading to Cotto-Canelo next year.

Cotto is a MW champion. If he fights anyone, it should definitely be a MW, fighting for his belt. To fight Bradley doesn't necessarily raise Cotto's stock, he's already there. Bradley needs Cotto to validate himself after the Pacquiao loss, but he's not a MW. The Martinez we saw lose to Cotto was not the Martinez we were used to seeing at all. I hear he claims the loss was a fluke. How about a Martinez-Cotto rematch?
