Kovalev can actually box and uses intelligent pressure
What's donaire? A puncher and little more
I think Hopkins might be able to get inside his head though let's seen if it's enough to mean up kovalevs flow

Yep. You would even put him over Pacquiao. Hopkins could actually do that for you, I am amazed. Hopkins continues to defy the odds. I wonder if Hopkins could out box Klitschko, It is not impossible but I doubt he does that.

Donaire was a much more proven fighter than Kovalev, their resumes aren't even comparable. It's laughable that you label Donaire nothing but a puncher but praise the untested Kovalev as some great boxer. The notion that he "can actually box and uses intelligent pressure" has only been seen against subpar competition.

                I don't think so.

The difference in skill is smaller in this fight than it was for Rigo and Donaire.

Donaire was getting away with hitting opponents with left hooks. That's all he was doing. He did that because he could get away with it because the opponents weren't the greatest. He struggled mightily against Narvaez and Mathebula. He even allowed Vasquez Jr. to light him up during their fight. He showed a lot of holes and weaknesses prior to facing Rigo and Rigo was more than willing to take advantage of them.

It could be that Donaire may have more skills than Kovalev, it's possible, but he definitely didn't show it in the lead up to Rigo. His last great performance was against Montiel, and he hasn't looked the same since then.

Also Let's not act like Donaire was fighting top guys either. Mathebula and Vasquez Jr. are on par with the level of opponents that Kovalev has faced and he looked awful against both.

Meanwhile Kovalev has looked tremendous against anyone put in front of him. He's an underrated boxer, and he'll have the power and 'youth' advantage over Hopkins. Hopkins has faced younger fighters his whole career, but he hasn't faced anyone this complete recently.

Not one of the 4 fighters involved in this comparison fights like any of the other 3.

                    You're getting slightly carried away.

I'm not saying you need to get off the B-hop hype train, but to take it down a gear.

Outboxing Klitschko and being TBE. Holy shieeet.

If Hopkins beats kovalev that would propel him to number 1 in the pound for pound list.
