that wresting move he done is very dangerous, could have broken rios neck and him pawing with his left hand in an attempt to slash rios face is blatant foul. having seen the fight yet but if he kept doing this throughout no wonder he got dqComment

Pretty much.
Now we are supposed to believe Rios is a dirty fighter who deserved it. When has he ever fought dirty?
Its fine for keyboard warriors to dislike his style and what not, but sometimes you have to put your feeling aside. Rios had never been in a dirty affair until yesterday. Don't know i DQ was justified all in all, bit Chaves was very sneakily dirty. He dove to cause a point loss and tried really really hard to get headbuted or pretend toComment

a very sensible view of the issue..I feel like the split in this argument has more to do with how people feel about Rios, when in truth, Chaves' actions are indefensible against ANY fighter.
Your eyes are very fragile and quite sensitive, even the skin on your eyelids is thinnest than anywhere else on your body (1/500 an inch as opposed to an average thickness of 1/20 an inch elsewhere).
Boxing is supposed to be a gentleman's sport and that's hardly ever the case, but a line has to be drawn somewhere otherwise you're setting a bad influence for future fights. We're all disappointed the fight was stopped, but perhaps far worse was prevented. The referee, after all, is supposed to protect the fighters.Comment

Yes, I'm sure you beat up Diego Chaves and send him to the ER...Not sure what people "think" their seeing but Chaves was lacing and raking the eyes every time he got his gloves underneath. He waited till the ref got in close then as they separated he raked!
If anyone here thinks he didn't deserve to be DQ's you don't know the very basic rules this DQ blatantly showed. He did it on purpose and the "throw down" was definitely on purpose too.
As I said before Chaves could have won on his own skill level but he choice to be a punk and he got what punk azz *****es get. He's lucky he didn't get his azz whipped in the back room. If I where in Rios's corner that ***** is going to the ER! I hate **** like two handed holding and then throwing in some **** on the breaks. That doesn't play well with me! Ray.

Chaves is a dirty fighter. this dude was trying to rub the inner laces that are exposed on the palm of the glove on Rios eye. one scratch on the eye will screw you up, and blur your vision and cause permanent damage.
Everyone knows about lacing, this **** was dirty, I even pointed it out to my pops when we were watching how Chaves was pushing off with the palm of his glove and rubbing it on Rios eye.
I think Floyd uses this too, and Floyd uses the elbowing and grappling, it would be good if Vic Drakulich refed Floyds fight so he can't hold anymore, and deduct a point for each dirty tactic he uses.Comment

Rios has thudding power thats why, and Chaves learned from his fight with Keith Thurman to hold, Thurman knocked him out and Chaves is now holding more to avoid getting hurt again. Reminds me of what happen to John Ruiz when he got knocked out cold by David Tua he became the hug man, he would just grapple you and hold and hit.i've also never seen a fighter so blatantly clinching a man when he got inside. some holding should be permitted, and a hurt fighter should always be allowed to clinch, but it's freaking ridiculous to be outboxing a guy and then clinching him every time he gets inside with both arms.
Holding deserves deductions it ruins the sport and rules of boxing this is not wrestling or MMA, The Ref did his job and deducted point for holding, they need to do this in all fights, learn to fight in phone booth or use your feet and box, Guys who never get deducted for holding and hitting are Floyd and B hop.Comment
