Even if you favored one fighter over the other, it's hard to avoid coming to the conclusion that what transpired tonight was shameful.
what were the scores? I had chaves up a couple rounds, I was watching with my casual fan friends who I haven't watched a fight with in ages and they were enjoying the rough house fight but the ref was on some straight BS how do you deduct points that damn early with no stiff warning? then decides to throw the whole fight out with only 1 1/2 rounds left knowing the fans want to see it play out the right way smh once it ended my friend looked over and said the words I hate to hear "this is why I don't watch boxing" lol

RIOS was upset about the tougness and boxing ability of CHAVES early in the fight so decided to stay close attacking head-first and obviously provocating a hold from the opponent;the few moments RIOS boxed he took shots from everywhere so he knew he couldn't boxe with the guy and he used his toughness and experience to frustrate CHAVES.
RIOS likes to be the bad ass but tonight he found a more bad ass than him!
CHAVES is a good boxer i hope he will fight someone that want to fight for glory so we'll see a terrific fight not someone ready to do everything to survive his carreer like RIOS did tonight!!!

I find that 'most' people hating on Rios have an agenda and tend to be *****s and Pac haters. Not all of course. Since Rios lost to PAC, these posters try to discredit Rios ...and try to say he's just mediocre competition.

Come on... Chaves was clinching everytime they got close,...he made the fight ugly.

Rios is an honest guy. Eye gouging is a serious offence that has no place in the sport. Reports of a scratched cornea is pretty serious.

Just look at Chaves' behaviour everytime he committed an offence. That was just silly and indirectly proves Chaves was doing some dirty stuff in the clinch.

Entertaining fight! Chaves could have been winning but Rios did enough to win too.

ref is clearly biased against chavez...rios fought chavez head-on from the very first round but drakulich just ignored it...it was a dirty fight because the ref is out of control of the fight...i think chavez is ahead in points going into that dq...

No man, I actually like both fighters but the ref. was a joke. It was a rough fight to being with, Rios just has no way of winning and made it a dirty fight, that's ok, within some limits you can make it more of a dirty fight but this was too much. Chaves was coming back with some dirt of his own, but the DQ was completely out of the question.
By those guidelines, Mayweather should get DQ two times per round with all his elbows, eye poking and shoving with the heel of the hand.
A real shame, Chaves shouldnt have been DQ, adn I didnt like that Garcia gave the ref. a pat on the back say "GOOD JOB". That sounded shady as ***....

Never understood why Rios was such a protected fighter. First the robbery vs Abril and now this. Its obvious that they wanted to ensure Rios doesn't take his 3rd loss in a row. Fight was dirty on both sides but two of those point deductions on Chaves were bs. Not saying he wasn't trying to muck it up but i have seen far worse in fights with not even a warning.

True. Many picked Chaves for an easy win just because they "hate" Rios. TBH Chaves wasn't half of what they expected to see. And some posters have pointed that Chaves was so hypocrite to pretend he was not doing anything wrong every he was warned or got deducted a point. Chaves pretended he was doing an immaculate fight while Rios has to be an ogre.

That and also to hype Thurman, who is obviously good and doesn't need psuedo hype from beating the B-/C+ level Chaves.
