Cotto vs. Kirkland will be very entertaining, but I don't think it's a smart move. Kirkland has too much power, and should not be a stay busy fight before Canelo or Mayweather 2. I think it's smarter for Cotto to fight Andrade or Molina for a 154 belt.

DEFINITELY a dangerous fight. ... maybe he should fight Murray or Geale... those killers GGG has been fighting

It's definitely smart to use the MW title he has as leverage for a Mayweather rematch or a Canelo fight (I personally think he should avoid Canelo but whatever), so I can't fault him there.
For me, I just kinda view Cotto as "middleweight champ" the way I view Floyd as the "jr middleweight champ." Unusual circumstances have them technically holding those titles. But their really not relevant to the day-2-day comings and goings of those divisions. I respect logical opinions that see it otherwise. But in my own lil personal boxing universe. I don't need the finality of GGG-Cotto to recognize Gennady as the class of the division. IMO any fighter wanting to claim supremacy at 60 needs to see GGG. And its obvious, Cotto doesn't care much for wanting to lay claim to being king at 60. So I'm fine whether the fight happens or not.

              154-168

GGG said he would fight anyone from 154-168.It doesn't have to be for the 160 belt get the 154 belt and you will have more options like Mayweather and Canelo.

I like Cotto and GGG, but this is b.s. IMO. Cotto wins a MW title, GGG is a MW, and it's for the unified MW title. Right? No way GGG should have to go 100% to Cotto's demands. Skroo that. Let 'em meet in the middle, 158/157, or Cotto has to relinquish the title. Tired of these high profile fighters getting an easy ride.

But no matter what happens, it will be Cotto's last fight. GGG will flatten him like a steamroller would.

So this is just people falling into the hype and wanting GGG to make bucks and get name recognition instead of finding the true MW champ like they b*tch about

The only fighter that matters at 160 is Golovkin. He's the clear number one in the division to anyone who isn't an insanely biased fanboy. Quillin gets smashed, so does Soliman and your boy takes a beating that will make the Margarito and Pacquiao losses look Disneyfied by comparison.

he gains nothing and still has to wait to get a shot at the wbc belt after rubio and whoever fights for it.
