Why? They purposely cherry picked that fight knowing that Marquez was aging and Pac was supposed to plow right through the guy and KO him. Boy did that go wrong.

He's right. The hype for GGG and Matthyse are much more fanatic and frantic, Broner is just more entertaining due to negativity and young mindedness.

Also his fanbase is still solid while Matthyse's is pretty dead.

Broner was anointed as the next P4P king, didn't you see the threads? Larry,Frank,BrushMyHair all said he was the next Mayweather

Frank and Jay banned themselves after the Maidana fight

I wonder why TS didn't include Broner

Like the poster above mentioned, Broner's fans are still intact. He's talked about because of his entertainment level. He's loved but mostly hated, and people tune in in hopes that he loses.

People didn't do the same for Matthysse. They only liked him because he was knocking people out. He was hyped to death. People said his boxing skills were incredible too...LOL.

          Where have Matthysse fans gone?

Where a rabid fanbase full of casual fans who are only fixated on KO's went on and on for months talking about how their guy was going to put a hurting on Danny? Aside from Pacquiao, I've never seen such a rabid and emotionally delusional fanbase in boxing, period. I've never seen a fighter lose that many fans in a span of 48 minutes.

We have a similar situation in the BHOP vs Kovalev fiasco. Tons of rabid emotionally invested casuals who became Kovalev fans simply due to his high KO % instead of his actual skillset. And of course we have others who just simply hate Bernard for whatever reason. Another classic between the boxer with a shelf full of credentials vs the hype beast with a high KO % against stiffs.

Which situation where a hype job who was supposed to be "GOD" got exposed would be funnier to you? Or maybe you have another choice, like Pavlik-Hopkins, Tito-Hopkins, Provodnikov-Algeri, Pac vs JMM III?
It's funny that you mention Pacquiao's fan base as well as Danny's, Kovalevs Alegri's and Provodnikov as rapid and delusional fan bases yet make no claim of Mayweather's, Broner's, Tim Bradley's, Keith Thurman Rigo, or Terrance Crawford, and even B-Hops all who have very vocal fans.. Mayweather's especially as his is At LEAST on par with Manny's!

Not very hard to see where you're going with these posts, you also tried to **** on Golovkin after the Geale win, lecturing on the qualities of Andre Ward over GGG!! Why don't you just try to enjoy the fights regardless of skin colour and quit your not to subtle racist rants!? All the guys listed above no matter the race or creed are great for the sport in one way or another!

This place would be a celebration ceremony, wtf are you talking about?

              Listen up, Sha Na Na.

You're thread title said rabid fanbase, not fucking hype job.

As far as now, it would be hilarious for me, as a poster on here, in this forum, to see some of the Mayweather fanatics have to eat a little crow in a convincing, KTFO fashion at the hands of Maidana.

Dumb dumb, rabid fans and hype jobs go hand in hand. They are made for each other. So your example doesn't apply and you know it. I understand you may still be a little salty about your hero practicing his best planking impression in the middle of a championship fight, but you need to understand the difference. Floyd isn't a hype job nor does he have rabid fans. He has credentials in the sport ranging for nearly 20 years. His fans are intact win or lose.

If you had reversed things on the other hand and mentioned Maidana, that would have been a sufficient example. Maidana's fans aren't loyal because his style brings a certain type of fan who is fixated on KO's only. They leave just as quick as they come.

Are you seriously going to argue that Broner had the same hype surrounding Lucas Matthysse in the lead up to the Garcia fight? Think long and hard about that for a second.

Why would Matthysse's fanbase get torn apart? Yes he lost to DG, so? Granted that was a good win for Danny but watch it again with realistic eyes. Danny cautiously backpeddled the entire night with hes left hand glued to his cheek in dear fright of Luca's right hand. Lucas also fought with one eye closed for a good portion of the fight. Lucas has continued to KO people since. Lucas also was robbed in his fights against Judah and Devon so in reality Lucas has 1 loss by decision against an undefeated champion. How is that torn apart and exposed? Please man. Danny was more exposed in his fight with Herrera which he 100% got schooled and lost in reality.
