WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) is not focused on any individual opponent for his planned ring return in December. Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum revealed to BoxingScene.com that Cotto will return on December 13th at New York's Madison Square Garden. The opponent is unknown. Cotto and his team will sit down to discuss possible opponents in the next week or so.

Before December and the fight negotiations: Cotto Has No Preference For December Ring Return.

After December and being demolished: "Eww-ee, wish I had said I prefer not to fight GGG".

    HA!

Really? Chavez can barely make 168...what weight does that fight even take place at? 160?

The fight that makes sense is Canelo vs Cotto by far... and it should be on Cinco De Mayo instead of Mayweather v. some cherry pick

Cotto & Roach Want NO Part Of Gennady; Take Their Chances With Canelo

They will milk their portion of the Middleweight title they won in convincing fashion over a shot, 40 year old Sergio. They won't be quick to have a unification fight with Gennady, because that's a 'one & done' fight. Cotto gets stopped in that fight. They have a better shot with Canelo, but they don't beat Canelo either. Everyone refused to use common sense claiming even at 40, Sergio would give Cotto a Boxing lesson, Cotto hasn't knocked anyone out in years, blah, blah, blah. Voting with their heart, not common sense. So NOW the roles reverse and everyone is talking about what a Boxing lesson Cotto would give Gennady, what a lesson he would give Canelo. Don't let anything but fear keep Cotto from climbing in the ring with both those guys, and see Canelo hand him a Loss, and Gennady hand him a stoppage. Then the fickle supporters will say, "oh it was a no-brainer that Cotto couldn't beat Canelo or GGG"... LOL!!!

Since it is not ppv it can still be GGG, but I still think it is going to be Rubio.
