Let's not get carried away. Cotto is among the greatest B+ fighters of all time. He is not elite. He never was. Has he beaten any HOFers? No!!! Martinez victory does not count. We were all taken with that fight. Martinez wasn't fit to fight a flyweight.

Im prbably the biggest Cotto fan... and sad to say.. i might have to agree calling Cotto a B+ fighter in his career would prbably be fairly accurate... you could even say (which i dont 100% agree with) that Cotto has lost all his biggest fights.... Martinez fight was fools gold.. but i dont blame him.... i would have did it too... to make history.

Your entitled to your opinion.. i have a hard time believing Trout is good money vs Cotto a 2nd time.. first fight i had 7-5... so basically it was a close competitive fight and Trout hasnt looked great since and Cotto has... that might be a bet i would be willing to take.

cotto didnt win more than 4 rounds and ended up with a pizza face, unlike canelos face who looked like he just had a walk in the park, and if there is any doubt for trout-canelo trout him self admitted who the faster , stronger and better fighter was that night, he almost called canelo daddy that night...

Well, Rubio sure as hell is not "safe" - that mofo still has the tools to spoil any party. But seriously, I would not be surprised at all if they got Provodnikov to blow up to 154 and get a "second chance" after the Algieri loss. Maybe even Alvarado. I'm just thinking like Uncle Bob here.

Cotto deserves 5 de Mayo weekend more than Floyd. He at least fights in some fights and has a much lesser chance to run and watch a boring ass fight in the process.

But if it is official, This fight is as big of a joke as Danny Garcia vs Rob Salsa, And Pacquiao vs Algieri. Pacquiao vs Algieri should be free. You are ******. You cant compare those fights to cotto - rubio. Salka is a 77th ranked 135 lbs fighter while algieri is a 140 lb fighter. At least rubio is a mandatory and ranked top 3 in the wbc ranks. TBE = The Best Excuses

Cotto vs Rubio is a very worthy matchup. Anyone that thinks it's ESPN level needs to reassess.
