When this fight was first announced, I was like, pfffff Pac destroys this dude. I've never heard of him. Then I realized I was thinking like an idiot and started to research this Algieri.

So far….this guy has all the tools to give Pac hell (his movement, his jab) . I don't know Algieri well enough for a final assessment yet but I'm trying to figure out why Arum would set up such a fight.

I've only seen Algieri fight Peralta so far (Sadly, I missed the Provod fight and HBO isn't offering it On Demand….freakin' bummer ) but on paper, Algieri gives Pac trouble.

Pac better not take Algieri lightly. Everyone and their mother knows that Algieri is going to train his a** off for this fight.

not only is this guy a descent boxer but he can also take a punch a has a lot of heart. A lot of guys would have given up after two knock downs and only seeing out of one eye than to continue getting pummeled by prodnikov

Ive only seen his chin tested by Provod in highlight vids, so I haven't seen a real-time reaction yet, but from what I've read so far, he responded very well. But I imagine, you actually did see the Provod fight, so I'll take your word. Getting up like that does take some serious guts.

You made another great point about what Algieri brings to the table. The more I learn of Algieri, the more I find myself liking him.

I've been reading the analysis thread little by little, and so far, hectari's assessment is really interesting. I've only gotten to about page 3 or 4 though. I plan to read it in it's entirety tonight and maybe comment.

I really wish HBO offered the Provod-Algieri fight On Demand.
