No, it wasn't. Stevens pulled that number up.

Absolutely. Andre though has to do his part though and start fighting again. Sitting on the sidelines and waiting around is not going do either of them any good. Golovkin has to keep fighting until Andre gets his sh|t together.

          Atrocious.

Those numbers are so bad, I almost feel sorry for the fangirls. Although the collective menstrual cycle that has ensued has been funny to read.

I always want clarity in divisions. Unifications, a legit lineal champ. This is what hardcore fans want, no?
I'm just saying, in fairness, that post read like a love letter to GGG. I know you are much more than a GGG fan.

I didn't say you were wrong dude. I agree GGG should get a MW shot. That said, with his team's "financial sense" point regarding Ward-its awfully hard to get mad a Cotto for taking a "financial sense" fight.

You either have latinos vs latinos, latinos vs blacks, latinos vs white, black vs latinos.

Remember Rigo vs King Kong - two black fighters, same ****ty ratings.

Interracial fights sell better - look at DLH vs Mayweather, Alvarez vs Mayweather

When was the last fight that had good ratings or that even went on pay per view b/w two white fighters, never?

Floyd fights pretty much only Latinos, the only exception was Mosley who had just destroyed Margarito in another interracial fight and had established himself as a name.

So GGG has to fight Quilin, Kirkland, Cotto, Ward, Canelo, - pretty much black and latino fighters as far as ratings go. That's what casual fans are about - they want to see a fight but if it's different races that's what it is all about whether you want to admit or not. Again, this is casual fans.
If GGG is not white, then what is he?

Look at Floyd, look at Manny - these will generate more fighting somebody that is not black or Asian - Mosley was an exception.
Yes, you're right almost every fight does avg 1 million on HBO. That's why I don't think the GGG fight underperformed because both fighters were perceived as white.

Once again, Geale was on HBO in a fight of the year candidate. Who's Agnew or where was he before Kovalev? Kovalev drew 1M vs him... Next.
