Someone else said the gate was disappointing and that's a lie, they seated for 9,000 and had like 8800 people, that's exactly what they were expecting.

GGG needs a viable dance partner to boost ratings

Fighting subpar fighters over the last several years isn't going to boost your ratings. GGG bet opponent thus far is Curtis Stevens whose and undersized MW. That simple will not due for the fans even if you're high on GGG. Promotional wars a side they have to find a way for GGG to actually fight somebody whose world class caliber.

8800 attendance in boxing doesn't mean 8800 paid. you know that. from all accounts the turnout was disappointing.

I guess the problem in general is that casual fans know very little about boxing, but boxing still needs the casual fansī money. PPV fights and fighters get way more attention and $$$ than they should and a lot of good fighters go unnoticed and fighting for peanuts. And that is just wrong.

This is very true, but from what I read the cheap tickets sold great and the dumbass priced $500 - $1000 didn't. Maybe in that sense it wasn't great, but no one in their right mind pays $500 for any ticket to any event. Especially if it isn't PPV or notable fight.
