Comments Thread For: Dmitry Chudinov Sets His Eyes on Miguel Cotto

WBA #1 and also WBA interim middleweight champion Dmitry Chudinov (13-0-2, 8 KOs) has high aspirations regarding both his next title defense against WBA #12 Frenchman Mehdi Bouadla (30-5, 11 KOs) and his plans after that. Chudinov battles Bouadla on a historic night of boxing in Sevastopol, Crimea, on August 9.

Chudinov views recently crowned WBC and lineal middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32 KOs) as his most desired opponent.

If somebody doesn't know Mehdi Bouadla, he is the guy who fared better than any other fighter against Golovkin. First, he was not KOd. Second, he lasted 8 rounds. Third, while Bouadla lost by UD, the point difference on three judges cards was smaller than at other two UD victories GGG had in pro rankings.

They say Jacobs-Flecther winner will be next in line for him, but when did the WBA ever force their multiple champions to face one another?

Bouadla isn't a great opponent based upon how he looked vs Kessler and Abraham, but it's an ok measuring stick for a guy with 15 fights. They do need to start matching the guys at 160 against each other though because right now almost every fighter kinda seems like they deserve to be in the lower half of the top 10.

Chudinov will definitely deserve the title shot against Cotto more than GGG.
        Oh, these vocal games ...
