Chavez Sr. is a better comparison, Louis kept better composure and threw a short chopping right hook I've yet to see anyone today throw.

GGG is the only guy that throws those lol. Watch the stevens fight. GGG threw a lot of those that went around stevens guard.

I definitely see the similarities between GGG and Joe Loius. The way they anchor themselves and have that foot planted when throwing 3 to 5 punch combinations with very mean intentions. Not a lot of fighters can commit to that. Obviously they are not going to be identical but it's a very good comparison.

I'm not denying that he does but Louis had a unique way of arching that punch, which again I've yet to see it. Always said that punch, if perfected, would do well against Mayweather's shoulder roll.

I can see similarities in the way they move and throw the jab.

But Louis was much more accurate and shorter with his punches.

Golovkin's also seems to go to the body more than Louis did.

Judah was a good elusive fighter at one point and had power, and Martinez' style was somewhat similar to Jones'. I don't see why people freak out every time a current fighter is compared to a great. There's only so many Ali/May type fighters who can't be compared to others cause there style is so unique.

He meant that in the sense that he doesn't mind taking a punch to land one.

Joe Louis couldn't hold Golovkin's jock strap...

Kellerman was just talking about how compact and hard Golovkin's punches are, like Joe Louis.

I think he looks more like Chavez Sr , style wise.

The one thing he uses like Joe Louis is his jab. He throws it to track his opponent when they try to move, so that to set time and distance for his right hand.

For the rest , Joe Louis fought from a different stance, with his head on a false angle and crouching more than GGG.

Joe Louis' hand speed and combination punching was also better , considering he was an HW.

As a side note, there is an interview in which GGG's trainer clearly states his idea of having GGG fight like Chavez sr . It's somewhere on you tube.
