Because he retired at a time when there were a lot dangerous fights available at WW but chose to wait it out instead, and then came back to fight JMM who had to jump up 2 weight classes, and Hatton who jumped one, both fighters having their first fights in the higher weight class for the first time.

Though I do not consider Mayweather to be "TBE" or on par with Ali (which is next to impossible these days), he is a great fighter.

I just have 1 question-is your frustration with Mayweather the fact he retired for 2 years and you couldn't watch him or is it something else, because you guys seem really upset that he left your lives.

Ali was 1,000 times more hated than Mayweather could ever hope to be. I don't recall anybody ever refusing to call Floyd by his name, protesting his very presence in the streets wherever he went, or threatening him with death.

All the responses Ive read in this thread are honest and level headed. Lacking the racism the ts imagines and hopes still exists as it did back in Ali's day. Yep. Floyd's rep has taken huge hits in 2014. He took over Broner's role as the butt of every joke. But it's almost as though they thrive under the embarrassment. Broner getting pounded on, falling off motorcycles on camera every other weekend , Floyd posting pics online of his small penis, getting rejected by hideous little girls on the red carpet. They seem to love it.
