They'll be content fighting Canelo who they have a slim chance beating, they'll then try to land a lazy, undisciplined, pot smoking Chavez, then they'll claim they need a break, and stall any chance of fighting Gennady because his the biggest risk to them in Boxing; he knocks Cotto out.

I can see the stall tactics coming into full view. We'll have two (2) Middleweight Champs in Cotto & GGG, Gennady will continue to call out Cotto, and they'll make sure the fight never happens.... ie: Mayweather ducking Pacquiao. Just gross disservice to the Sport of Boxing when these guys play these head games. Grab as many weak link belts as possible, and refuse to man up to unify things. It's all about the payday, not who's best. I see it coming.
If he wants to unify so bad and cotto has said to get his rep up, he can fight quillin and soliman, then defend that against murray. or he can go up and fight ward the number 2 p4p, oh wait that doesnt make financial sense. Oh yea thats right ggg has NEVER been in a ppv.

If Cotto moves down then it's over with. But as of now Cotto is in Golovkins division. Ward isn't.

One guy would have to move up, the other wouldn't.

      This isn't rocket science
      GGG: "Ill fight anyone 154-168."
Ward: "Ill fight you at 168."
GGG: "It doesnt make financial sense."
GGG: "Now I want to unify titles. Ill fight cotto."
Cotto: "It doesnt make financial sense."
      GGG: "but...but... but..."

GGG fans... ward is too big, not in the same division. cotto is doe.

Cotto going for the Canelo money....I would 2

Cotto isn't ****** mega pay day to fight Canelo. I would deal with GGG later. Heck Cotto could even fight Quillin first and probable get more money or at least as much.

So is Chavez Jr but Golovkin was still going to take that fight.

Oh and the proclamations of "I'll fight anyone from 154-168".

                    Stay fantarded.

                      1. Cotto apparently signed a 2 fight deal with Haymon. It was Mayweather and Trout. Haymon put Trout in front of Cotto, and Cotto fought him. The price was right, Cotto got the significant lion's share.

                      2. That was not a big PPV fight and wasn't supposed to be. Many fans, including me, thought that was a ****** move by Cotto. Cotto turned down Pacquiao and Canelo. He turned down Pac because he wanted a CW below 150. He turned down Canelo because he probably wasn't going to get the same as what he did for Trout because he would have had to give up more money in the purse split. Cotto was also coming off a loss and Trout was the champion, Cotto wanted a belt. In this case, Cotto won the belt, and beating GGG won't do anything for his legacy because GGG himself hasn't done anything even for his own legacy. He's no ATG, let alone HOF'er.

                      3. The next logical move for Cotto is Canelo Alvarez or Timothy Bradley. Both have been on PPV, Canelo has shown that by himself he is a 300-350k type of PPV seller, which is great. Bradley has shown with Pac and Marquez that he is a good enough dance partner to draw in 400-700k PPV's. Golovkin has yet to be on PPV and Cotto is not in the level of Mayweather or Pacquiao in selling PPV's that he can just fight anyone with no prior PPV headlining and still do well.

Golovkin is not a logical move. It is a ****** move that no fan would take if they were in Cotto's shoes.
                      Choices are:

Canelo - he has indicated he is not moving to 160
JCC - I would bet money he never makes 160 again
Floyd, tied up with Maidana, may not seek a rematch with Cotto
Bradley - that is a joke that no one would approve of.

If Cotto takes on someone less than one of these guys, he wont be able to use the money excuse and his team cannot use the "GGG not n the majors" excuse if the other stars are not available. Cotto is going to hear the public demand for GGG and outcry if he fights someone less than the group mentioned.
