Cotto can make more fighting Floyd or Canelo or Chavez Jr, same way GGG's team knows he can make more fighting Floyd at 154, cotto, or chavez jr than he would fighting Ward.

If it doesn't make financial sense for GGG, why would his team and you expect Cotto to take a fight that falls in the same category?

I don't think you understood the post I quoted.

I completely understand boxing is a job for fighters and as such they go after the bigger paydays. I was giving the oft repeated mantra of NSB to see if they will hold GGG to this standard.

You also need help? Dont see the difference between consensus #1 contender fighting lineal champ meeting on ppv, and two guys from different divisions, for a non-ppv, prohibitively expensive fight?

Right but there's no difference between Canelo and Golovkin as a choice for Cotto?

Well Canelo insists hes not a mw and doesnt wanna move up so yeah its different. But I dont expect Cotto to fight ggg, he should drop the lineal belt though

They'll likely fight at a catchweight. It's not different at all. Financially, Cotto has better options than Golovkin. Same reason Golovkin is choosing not to fight Ward

As the consensus #1 contender, Ggg has a mandate at the champ, whoever it is. Nothing like that with Ward, who has never made an offer btw. You understand about weight divisions in boxing?

There's no mandate....lol stop making things up just to suit your agenda.

A guy whos #1 ranked and universally acknowledged as the best guy in the division has no mandate at the champ? Whatever windup, go parse Frochs "humor" and make some more dumb Ggg Bute parallels

cotto is avoiding the best in his division in favour of facing smaller opposition; golovkin is choosing to stay in his current division rather than move up. if cotto didn't want to face middleweights then he shouldn't have nicked that title. they would be comparable situations if golovkin moved up to 168 lbs, beat froch, then instead of unifying with ward he chose to defend his smw titles against peter quillin at a sub-168 lbs catchweight.
