He even looked a bit gassed before the midpoint of the fight. As for Perez. He came in way to heavy and Adam Booth talks in the corner like he is giving someone an appraisal on the boring a$$ British version of the Antiques Road Show. My thoughts on the fight itself. Well, if these are top ten HW's Wlad can fight until he is 60 he will most likely still be the champ.
hard to jab lefty right hand in the way

I stopped watching after round 8 - couldn't stand it anymore. The whole fight just looked like shit. I've now seen 2 fights each from Jennings and Perez, and won't be in any hurry to watch more.

His right hand was in the way? For much of the fight Perez had his hands down at his waist. I bet if Jennings threw even a lazy jab on somewhat of a regular basis Perez wouldn't have been walking in on him face first with his hands down. It would have also kept some distance between them and then Jennings could have possibly gotten some kind of power on those weak a$$ power shots of his. I also didn't hear much of anything useful coming from either corner between rounds. I had high hopes for Jennings but personally I think he took a giant step backwards and Perez really isn't all that.

I had it close. I scored it 7-5 jennings. a few things I noticed. Bryant never used his reach advantage at all. he could have pumped a long jab in his face the whole fight as perez hand his hands at his waist most of the time. I did like some of the combos he threw & the body work too. I think perez could have won this fight if he had better stamina. he gave rounds away in the second half. he was also 242 lbs but looked more solid in build then his previous fight where he was 228 I believe. he clearly has better skills & hand speed. booth looks like he got him to bulk up with muscle & I don't know if that did him any good. sometimes adding too much muscle doesn't help a fighter. he was clearly gassed in the 2nd half of the fight. the point deduction was weak but I my card I had Jennings winning anyway. if you watch the foul he could have been hit with 2 fouls. perez actually intentionally headbutted him & Bryant looked at the ref as he called break & perez smacked him late. wasn't blatantly late & shouldn't have been called. so in that sequence he hit him on the break after he intentionally headbutted him... not sure if the butt had anything to do with the point deduction but that could be why he called break...Jennings needs to use that reach advantage more & perez needs a new trainer. booth didn't exactly help him much & I think the added muscle has hurt his stamina...

also, the way jennings was moved by perez' punches despite his tight guard made feel wilder would do scary things to jennings if they were to fight, wilder has the kind of power that would smash that guard with a single punch
Good post agree on most of your points...especially the highlighted. I was very (and I mean very) surprised at how Jennings was moved around by almost everything Perez threw; he did not look sturdy at all in the first half of the fight. Everytime he leaned back with the guard I was thinking the same thing you were.

Still, he made an alright comeback. Look better next time hopefully. Would like to see him develop a meaner attitude in there now that he has tasted the physicality of a higher level
