10 oz gloves are required cuz the fight was at 154. Mayweather was the one crying about wearing 8 oz gloves. The only reason cotto's team disagreed with the gloves cuz of another fight were floyd was using the same gloves as mosley's opponent and the "thumb" part of the glove was a harder leather and easily could cut other fighters just by "thumbing" them. Mayweather had no choice but to use the 10 oz gloves cuz the 8 oz he wanted to use were deamed illegal.

Even the late Emmanuel Stewart discussed that during the bout and mentioned that Cotto said he wanted it because the 10 oz gloves provided him with better protection (especially defensively). And yes, 10. oz gloves are the standard for 154 lbs. But Team Cotto did not disagree for the reasons you just said.

That subpoena was NOT done to get their hands on USADA and/or any other test results. It was done because Team Mayweather were requesting Pacquaio's medical records. So Team Pacquaio in return retaliated asking for the same thing.

He's making stipulations himself that he can't make..the talk from both sides is bullshhh. Floyd says bet your purse and people eat it up, maidana and garcia say let us wear the gloves we want and people at it up. Both sides are full of shhh imo. Floyd wants to paint this fight in his favor with the ref and maidana and company want to paint themselves as victims...both are doing a bunch of whinning to get the ref and public on their side. Fact is Floyd asks for too much Imo and Maidana should've negotiated his gloves. Haymon is such a phenomenal (sarcasm) adviser that he let these two agree and sign up for a fight without handling all the intangibles that are now causing all these issues.

I bet you guys will soon try to claim that Mayweather Promotions doesn't really have a Promoter's license in Nevada or New York. That the license they have is a fake certificate.
