Okay. Change your point on the fly when all else fails. Why would you ever compare gloves and shoes if your comparison has nothing to do with gloves and shoes and only to the calibre of athlete? anyway its during the glove selection process. fighters would pick their gloves and opponents would inspects their opponent gloves. if they haven't agreed on a particular gloves the commission has the final say. floyd rejected a particular pair and the commission also rejected it (whether it was defected or in not in the right color doesnt matter). maidana chose another pair and the commission approved it but floyd rejected it. floyd should have complied to the commissions decision as maidana did.
