Street fighters are not average joes or walking punching bags. Many are extremely fast and have bad intentions. They gain more experience the more fights they have and even hold 1 key advantage over trained fighters. That would be that trained fighters are in a controlled area where fights can be stopped at any giving time which gives the fighter a sense of relief. Knowing there face wont be caved in from shots after they have been knocked out. Some professional fighters have been known to freeze or tense up when put out of there comfort zone.

I haven't fought since high school and I used to get in a lot of fights, maybe one fight every month. It was always a fist fight until somebody falls on the ground and then ground and pound.

You know what's funny, people talk **** about how boxing ain't ****. Next time you have somebody come up to you, just tell them for the record that you do or did boxing.

I swear I had this guy threatening to beat me up at a library of all places. I am 5 7 and 150 pounds. I just told him listen we can do that or we can go to my car I have boxing gloves. He wants to be friends afterwards.

I tell you man, I've had average Joes who weight 200 pounds spar with me they get hurt from a jab (16 ounces gloves) and it's not cause I punch that hard. They're just not used to this ****. Same goes when they throw punches, they weak.

Like I say boxing gets downplayed with the advent of MMA but in streetfight, it's what a mother ****er is supposed to do not lay and pray, that's for snakes and women.

So a street fighter who gains experience fighting on the street will have better eyes, timing and skill than somebody who fights everyday (and is trained by a professional) in the gym against other people who really know how to fight. You put a trained professional in the corner at the bar, hurt him some how, and you believe that a tiger would not emerge from that corner?

I venture to guess that you have never fought a professional fighter before because your reply was empty of any substance....
I have never fought a professional fighter. Did plenty of fighting in karate and kick boxing but not professionally. First of your assuming he has no training what so ever. Your also assuming your training will make you an instant street fighter. You seem to think your training will translate to a life or death situation. You giving me a hard time about assumptions and your full of them.

You have your opinion that a trained fighter under no circumstances could lose to a tough experienced street fighter. Seems like a pretty ridiculous assumption to me.

I used to like mixing regular boxing with thai kicks and knees. Haven't been in a street fght in years though, I stopped street fighting when folks in my community started doing more shooting than actual fighting......... these days I refuse to fight someone unless I'm willing to kill them because that's ultimately what it leads to.

boxing is very useful in a street fight. Especially if the boxer is strong, can take a punch ...and deliver hard punches.

MMA is overated in a street fight. A large part of MMA is ground tactics... In a street fight, that can be useless because once you're on the ground, it's a good chance it's over. The guy will jump on you or the guy's buddies.

Sambo (Russian martial arts), FMA (Filipino Martial Arts), Muay Thai, and knife defense...would be useful in a street fight... As they are very versatile arts with significant hand to hand attack and defence applications.
