Not even close. You couldn't sniff Maidana at +1800 odds. Ever.

yah i did a quick search and he was a 14-1 underdog.

Floyd Mayweather has signed on the dotted line to face Marcos Maidana. Does Maidana have a realistic chance at winning this fight? Oddsmakers don’t think so. Tom Craze breaks it down.

Because Algieri isn't a legitimate champion right

14-1 is crazy odds. Pac is fading. Should be 7-1 or 8-1 not 14-1 lol

Floyd was a -1800 favorite at some books against Maidana

Thats the same thing as him being a 18-1 underdog but no book was offering Maidana +1800 because the favorite is always juiced because thats what most people bet on.

Its still technically correct to say Maidana was a 18-1 underdog

And these odds are surprising considering that Algeiri would beat Floyd and Maidana

That's not how odds work, my guy. Floyd was a 14/1 favorite. Which makes Maidana about a 7/1 underdog. You won't ever see odds like -1400/+1400.

The same article said that you "could find Maidana as high as +1000". Which means 10/1.

No, it's not technically correct to say that. It's making something up, to say that. Maidana wasn't an 18/1 underdog. Period. The only way it's correct to say he's an 18/1 underdog, is if you can bet on him at 18/1. I mean, that's why these odds exist. Imagine telling someone that Maidana is an 18/1 dog, then they try to bet it, and get 7/1. They'll think you're a moron that doesn't know what he's saying.

And when we're talking about -1800 favorites, there's no reason in the world to juice it any higher than it needs to be. No one is laying $1800 to win $100.

Huuuuge money on the Algeri decision. Im too big a fan of Pacquiao to bet against him, so im going to have to go for the Pacquiao decision. There should still be good money on that because Vegas will have this a Pacquiao TKO favourite (which is lol).
