Even a fight with Andrade is 10x better then Rubio. Beating a young talented fighter proves more then Rubio at this point. Then again Andrade might remind Cotto too much of Trout and decide he wants none of that.
Only difference is that Rubio is his actual mandatory at 160 while Andrade fights at 154 and his best win is Vanes. The complaining begins

It's not the worst fight you can put forth as sort of a stay-busy type of affair - although I fear that Cotto at this point needs the major fights to stay motivated.

With that being said - I want to see him fight vs Claudio Abalos; that's a true superfight

And if people were forced to fight their mandatories we'd have the fight we've all been waiting for. Andrade is the tougher fight and Cotto fans know it. Nice try though

No worrys though, its not like Cotto would actually consider Andrade anyway, unless of course he loses a leg or something.

if you consider cotto a MW champion then rubio is a legit MW challenger, let andrade fight for jmw titles, the guy needs to earn his shot adding more names to his resume, but def there is many MW fighters that deserve a MW title shot over andrade..
if cotto vacates then he should be able to fight whoever he wants at 154 or 160... even if he fights canelo next i hope is not for the MW title...

Make it happen since Canelo Vs Cotto ain't happening next. Canelo Vs Kirkland as well. Both entertaining, winnable fights for both 'Nelo and Cotto.

He is the tougher fight and does less for Cotto's career. There's no upside to him yet. He has HBO's backing. If he has the goods, they'll reveal themselves and maybe Cotto or GGG will be waiting for him.

Andrade is being smart to call out Cotto and get his name out there, but I doubt even he seriously thinks it is going to happen.
