Easy Canelo Victory in my eye.

Lara did nothing but desperately try to put space between him and Canelo, that is not boxing that is running. Call a spade a spade.

I had Lara up by one point but can see how other people scored for Canelo.

I'm surprised a Mexican judge was even allowed, given the fact that there is clearly a conflict of interest.

Just because people don't like Lara's style doesn't make him less effective, he took Canelo to the brink.

If he doesn't engage then the referee can deduct points right?

I never saw the referee warn Lara, so according to the rules he was boxing fairly, albeit in a careful, cautious style.

I like both Mexican and Cuban styles, its part of what makes boxing interesting.
        Well said.

I would like to add that if you look at the fans of the ATG pressure fighter JCC, they never relied on using the excuse that the other guy was running. You know why? In his prime either one of two things happened:

        1. He'd cut off the ring, wear down, and beat the **** out of his opponent.
        2. He'd get schooled (which happened rarely).

That's simply movement without a purpose. Effective movement is being in range to land while neutralizing your opponents options. There's nothing special about being out of range to land your punches as much as you elitist boxing minds like to point it out that's ineffective movement.
          +1

I hate that this even needs to be explained to some people here

If Canelo fought like Lara and Lara fought like Canelo that night. We would never hear the end about how much of a smooth boxer Canelo is and how he made Lara look like a fool in the ring.

Boxing fans when their fighter wins a unearned victory and decision that's when they start contradicting and switch their view of how to score a fight. When Algieri beat Ruslan in another controversial decision everybody on hear was saying how Ruslan aggression didn't win him points from the judges but Canelo's aggression does win you points from the judges??? Algieri outboxed Ruslan and won but Lara does the same thing but it doesn't count.

            Boxing is so inconsistent
Algieri punches whilst on the move, he continued to land his jab and at times going downstairs with the left hook.

Only person who insinuated this ******ity was you. I didn't want to respond to your reply because if you don't get it by watching the fight...then likely you never will.

Meh. Some fights just need to end in KOs.
