Truth is if Bernard Hopkins had knockout power than he would have KO'd Jermain plain and simple.
Bernard systematically dismantles opponents. He doesn't bomb them out with heavy punches. When he hits you, he throws his shoulder into you, ****s you with his hip, roughs you up royally.
Don't get it twisted, he doesn't have big power at middleweight let alone light heavy.
Lol, actually anyone that have seen the fight will surely agree that Tarver was hurt.
Your talking about the first fight. I've watched it many times.
And I agree when I first saw it it looked like he stunned Tarver and I got excited because, as much as I like Tarver, Johnson is a good guy and hard to outright root against. When they showed the replay you'll see that the supposed "big punches" didn't even land flush. Tarver was never in serious danger of hitting the mat or getting knocked out. Thus, he wasn't "hurt".
Hopkins can win this fight easily if he leads and isn't afraid to pull the trigger.
Tarver waits on his opponents and can led to follow along with what other fighters want him to do, Hokins used to reall y good at making guys do what he wants them to do. the only thing about that is that was when Hopkins wasn't afraid to let his hands go.
Tarver can easily be out hustled, had RJJ had more of an punch output in their last fight, it might have been a closer fight. Tarver would wait on Roy and when Roy did do somethin he'd sometimes sit and take it without countering or anything.
Tarver can't out box Hopkins(if Hopkins throws punches)and he isn't going to be able to hit Hopkins cleanly.
i think however is more active in this fight will be the winner.
This should be a good one between two tough guys that like the smack talk and can back it up.
Hopkins in a sure bet Hall of Famer, and Antonio likes to talk but can deliver the goods.
Bernard is a very big man for a middleweight, so the two are probably about the same size naturally.
This is about even as I see it.
