Vargas never beat anyone as good as Lara stylistic wise. In a brawl canelo would take his head off doe

Vargas had a tendency to lose his head at the wrong times. Thats what I meant and if his brain was so good he would have lasted longer at the top than he did. And we cant assume he used steroids only post Tito.

We can't assume he did though. He certainly looked very different before the Oscar fight.

And I don't know what you mean by he tended to lose his head. I don't think so, particularly given the way he fought against Winky and Ike.

Vargas wouldn't have any problems beating Canelo. He was a much better boxer and had enough pop to get Canelo's attention. Also, Vargas' chin pre-Tito was durable enough to take anything Saul could land.

prime for prime Vargas easily. Very underrated and the sad thing is he never reached his prime. That was all pre prime stuff when he was at his best

Vargas was a bad dude in his hey day. Both guys are cut from the same cloth. Vargas fought most of the tough names during his time. Ike, Winky, Tito, DLH and Shane and he had his moments in most of those fights. I've always liked his style. He could really box and only came up short against the best guys and his last fight against Mayorga.

One of my worries for Canelo is that he will go down the same route as Vargas. He seemed to burn out at an early age. He fought so much top opposition at a young age. By time he hit his late 20s he was done. I hope Canelo doesn't suffer the same fate.

I would lean towards Vargas head to head but he did like to exchange and Canelo would be able to do some damage when they go toe to toe. Vargas SD. Tough, tough fight.

Vargas was a better fighter and would beat canelo..

Prime Vargas only gets beat by elite guys like Tito and oscar..
