fighting at any weight wouldnt affect any fighter since they are both about the same size, but it will be better if the fight doesnt involve the MW title... let the real midleweights fight for it... if cotto wants to defend it then i hope canelo vacates right after the fight if he wins...Chavez could never make weight without killing himself and turning up fight night a shell of himself.
Canelo...said he wants to stay at 154. Even if he fought for the title at a catch weight (which I don't think titles should be) and beat cotto???then what vacate and go back down to 154! He knows he couldn't do that cause of all the accusations of ducking GGGComment

That will not be a problem. Despite Cotto vs Martinez being a 159lb catchweight, Cotto weighed in at 155lbs..the same Canelo and Lara weighed in just a few weeks ago for their fight. So that won't be a problem.Comment

Technically speaking, 155-160 is ALL Middleweight. Neither of them can actually make 160 without looking fat/out of shape, they would look like the current Heavyeweights. Would it make you feel better if there was no catchweight in the contract but both of them still came in at 155-156? Just that the CW stipulation is not in play?
IMO, CW's are bad for boxing when one fighter is deliberately using it to drain another fighter. In this case, a CW wouldn't be draining Canelo or Cotto. It's not an advantage, it's no one being a b*tch, it's nothing really.Comment

even at 160lbs chavez would be a ****ing dead man. a zombie
it would look like pacquiao vs. de la hoya.
the bigger man who should be able to hurt the small man wouldnt be able to land s.hit
the smaller guy would circle around and HURT the big dead man.Comment
