155 is the minimum for mw and i think that will be the weight they negotiate with. so it would be a fight for the lineal mw title..besides both fighters are pretty equal in size, and imo the skillsets of both fighters are equal as well...thats the fight i want to see! CANELO VS COTTO make it happen.

chavez is too big for cotto and the cut back down to 160 would be too much of a risk healthwise for him cause he has outgrown the weight class...the FROCH fight is what his camp should be pursuing, not cotto. what you think?

Thanks for the answer, it does clear up a few questions. Anyway Froch vs JJC Jr is the fight that makes most sense right now. Julio needs to face men his size and Froch will make a man out of the boy (no ****). Anyway Cotto vs Canelo is a mega fight but fighting for the belt at any weight other than 160 to me, personally… is bull. Especially seeing as how Canelo claims he wants to stay at JMW for his entire career(lol) so he would just get the belt and not defend? IDK.. I'm aware 155 is technically Middleweight but in my book it's not a good look. Neither is claiming to be a 154 pounder but fighting at 155. Canelo really needs to clear his weight issues up doe.

Cotto vs Canelo would be a great fight for sure, but at 155 it has nothing to do with MW world championship. More like catchweight chumpship.. defend at 160 or vacate, no catchweight bull**** in title fights.

I agree though. Great matchup, has all the makings of a skillful but action packed fight.
