Canelo typically enters the ring as heavy or heavier than Golovkin. Canelo weighed 172 pounds on fight night when he fought Trout. Golovkin weighed 170 pounds on fight night when he fought Macklin.
As I've posted numerous times, the obvious reason Canelo hasn't moved up to middleweight yet is that he's going to meet fighters there like Golovkin who will quickly demonstrate that he's not the elite boxer the public has been convinced he is through savvy matchmaking and marketing.

I do not know why people are celebrating this. If the WBC/WBA can cancel the fight, that's one thing, but to not sanction it, IMO, makes it worse. For whatever reason, if Salka is able to pull off a victory, he does not get the titles, and Garcia is a sham champ. If the fight is going to happen, it should be sanctioned, it is not fair to Salka.

Its good because its not fair on the people who are more deserving of a title shot. I hope they force a mandatory on garcia ass too. Salka don't deserve a title shot thats the bottom line. Now it looks like danny is wasting time and a date on tv.

The person I responded to was trying to suggest that Golovkin was too big for Canelo. I pointed out that as far as weights are concerned, Canelo is just as big as Golovkin, if not bigger. I didn't write anything about Trout and Angulo. Nobody is talking about them because they're not being marketed as elite fighters. Canelo is, unjustifiably in my opinion.
As for your comment, "If it where same day weighing all fighters would be fighting in a different weight class than the one their in", it is sadly true that lots of fighters play the weight game but if you look at the sport's most accomplished, skilled and dedicated fighters (think Mayweather, Rigondeaux, Hopkins, etc.), they aren't pulling this nonsense.
Hopkins, who is fast approaching 50, weighed in two and a half pounds under the 175 pound limit in his fight against Shumenov. And when Mayweather fought Canelo, he dropped a half a pound between weigh-in and fight night. So please don't pretend that everybody is dehydrating themselves silly to make weight.
P.S. It's "Haters gonna hate", not "Hatters gonna hate", unless you have something against people who wear hats.
