Garcia vs May in La = Nas vs Jay-Z(Ether)

I just disagree with the comparison
In some ways it works. Floyd is definitely Jay Z compared to Robert's Nas financially. Floyd definitely isn't as confident as he puts on. So that part works. He is an insecure person. But that's about where out ends imo. Casual fans are not rooting for Floyd like they were for Jay Z. If anything, Floyd has more of the hardcore boxing audience. Casuals find him boring. Just like casual hip hop fans find Nas boring. Hardcore fans respect their skills. When Garcia says "in L.A. we don't need pay per view" and tries to bait Floyd into a fight, I think that comes across as good entertainment, but not reality. He isn't serious about that and he knows it. It makes for a good press conference. But to me it sounds more like Jay in Takeover. In that song he challenged Nas' credibility even though his own was questionable. To me that's what Robert did. And when Floyd brought up Corrales, I saw that more as what Nas said about Jay getting chased through his building. Floyd was safe in his "building" when he fought Corrales. He beat him up. Robert/Jay got chased through that same building and got beat up. And are you saying Ortiz was prime when Chino fought him but not when Floyd fought him? I gotta disagree with you there as well. I think it's clear Floyd is a better fighter than Robert was. Just like it's clear Nas is a better lyricist than Jay Z. Casuals eat up the stuff Jay and Robert say, but they are ignorant. Casuals think Floyd is overrated, just like they thought Nas was overrated at the time. Not to say there aren't hardcore fans who appreciate Robert and Jay. There certainly are. I just don't think this comparison really works that well.Last edited by BigZigga; 07-20-2014, 10:53 AM.Comment
