I think Floyd did it just to show Maidana who was running the show too because he had no problem with Pacquiao or others wearing those gloves.

I think Maidana wasn't showing any cracks at all during the build up, just like Fury doesn't. So both Wlad and Floyd wanted get in control of something and show them who's really in charge.

Wlad had it written into the contract that Fury needs to wear a certain type of glove.

I don't fall under your first assumption and it's possible your second is correct. Still, it's just another way to mess with an emotionally volatile person. I don't think Mike Tyson would be too concerned with his opponent requesting a change of glove.

Fury wasn't okay with it though was he? He was really upset and talk about pulling out of the fight. Exactly what Wlad wanted - Fury is really playing into his hands.

That is womanly behaviour.

In Floyd's case he seemed more concerned about a specific pair Maidana wanted to use, not the brand or type of glove. But then after he was bothered by that glove he saw he then said "he can wear the same as me".

Not to defend him, but he usually never had a problem with opponents gloves so i think he was sceptical about Maidana and his team when he felt that glove from a non-sealed pack. I can understand that.
