No it wasn't, but he could have tried to change his gameplan, other than lunging into Vladimir's bearhug trying to land one overhand right.

Both fighters were to blame. Vlad did what he had to do as champion, which is defend his titles.

The challenger has to bring more to the table, simply.

No. It was all Wlad's fault.

There was one man in the ring who wanted to fight, the other didn't.

And we all know the fighting man wasn't Wlad.

You can say the same about 'TBE'. He LOVED 'FIGHTING', didn't he?

Yet Vlad was the one dropping the other guy a couple times, not vice versa

You don't really believe that Elroy. I think you're resorting to trolling after seeing the massive Fury support in this thread.

The odds for Fury winning fight are getting shorter and shorter btw.

Like Ned, I'm also concerned that Wladimir will fake yet another injury to get out of the fight.

Fury is all wrong for Wladimir & deep down him & his team know it.

Why are we discussing Mayweather? Deflecting for what? He doesn't clinch like a girl every 5 seconds at least.

Due to pure exhaustion. Having a 250lbs guy clinch and lean all over you can tire anyone out, especially as it happened every 5 seconds.

he came within a hair of stopping povetkin in that 8th round. povetkin was teetering. I still think wlad would have stopped him if he punched more instead of all the clinching. he hurt povetkin every time he landed it seemed

Again, Sasha could have utilized movement, a more tactical approach. What was his plan, stand there and trade with Vlad? Foolish gameplan and Povetkin knows it.

That's why I'd like a second fight, it could look different.

I agree that Vlad overclinched for some reason. I don't think Povetkin was a bigger threat than Haye on the night. It was like Vlad respected Povetkin too much, he became over-careful and it made for an ugly fight.
