  • Fury is very quick for a 260lb fighter but nowhere near as quick as the former cruisers obviously.

The main reason Fury gets more speed than expected than a big lug otherwise would is because he does not throw any of that weight into his punches and his arms themselves are quite skinny, not weighted down.

    He throws windmakers mainly.

It's not very technically good at all, Wladimir and most modern boxers dead sharp and lined up missiles are far better economical boxing as well as devastating.

Wladimir's punches themselves are faster than Fury's anyway individually or in 2 punch combination, maybe just not as rapid or fluid in extended combination that's all.

In the event that Fury can survive and pose any serious problems for Wladimir, punch speed and punch power and timing and accuracy will ultimately win the fight for Wlad anyway! Aka Thompson.

Wladimir's Pulev, Povetkin and Haye wins, all 3 of them are almost certainly already better than a Fury win imo.

I rate Fury's chances so minimally as he hasn't really any huge advantages, maybe slight to minor reach, as I've said before Wlad's footwork is no worse than Fury's, it's a myth Wlad is slow and has poor footwork. Only fools state he is himself slow, and for a man his size he is actually light of feet, the same may be said of Fury, that much can not be denied as he has looked slick against SMS of the C level opposition he lays claim to his best wins.
Fury has a number of advantages, as has already been pointed out. His combination punching is significantly more fluid than Wlad's, who besides his excellent one two is really quite terrible in this area. He also seems much more naturally at ease in the ring and has shown the ability to adapt on the fly and change his tactics when they're not working for him. Wlad's only really at ease when he's fighting the way he wants to fight, at distance and with full discretion to clinch whenever he wants. Fury can box, brawl, counterpunch, whathaveyou, and shows equal abilities at inboxing as he does at range (though for obvious reasons he prefers to fight at distance). He also appears to have incredible stamina for a big man.

It's very possible that a number of these qualities might appear exaggerated due to the opposition he's faced, but I have a hard time ever seeing Wlad being able to emulate what Fury did to Chisora or Hammer (he'd beat them of course, just not in the way that Fury did).

Only advantages Fury has are Heigh and Reach.

On other aspects Klitschko is way better than Fury. Especially athleticism.

          Compare this

          to this

This fight won't be competetive as people may think.
Wlad will win almost all rounds and take easy UD.
Don't forget this figh will happen in Germany where Wlad always look like GODlike boxer.
          Big deal. Here's Holmes:

          Here's Weaver:

Now who won on the night?

Fights aren't won on athleticism or how muscular your body looks in a swimming pool. Fury will never look like a body beautiful, even if he starts taking the huge amounts of steroids Wlad does, and it would probably make his less effective as a fighter anyway. So long as he isn't overweight it doesn't matter if he lacks muscle definition. Lots of staminacious fighters like Frazier, Ali and Bowe were built the same way.

His 'windmakers' allow him to throw crisp, head snapping combinations from all angles while remaining light on his feet, something a lot of bigger boxers can't do. If he wanted to he could load up, but he trades off pure power for speed and a peppering workrate which makes him far more dangerous.

Vitali was the same, only he was lumbering to go along with it. Fury combines speed, sharpness and a natural heavy handedness to effect devastating damage on his opponents. When you're a 250lbs man even arm punches are going to do damage.

                Are you bragging about that?

Absolutely embarrassing performance in which he should have been DQd multiple times.

Yawn, give it a rest. You don't have the chops to debate in this thread.

Wait until November 28... Fury will be outclassed.

Talk before the fight is cheap!
