  • Yeah he clinches -- but the ref should be free to warn/deduct if so. Vlad fights the way he does and also knocks out nearly all opponents. And most big HWs clinch, as well as you will see more clinching in almost any HW fight. Part of the game.

      That's simply not true.

And even if some big heavyweights do, it's nowhere near to the excessive extent Wlad clinches ALL of his opponents.

Vitlai never clinched Sam Peter once. Didn't need to. Wlad couldn't stop mugging the guys back. Why is that? How come his only recourse against a slow , no skilled plodder - was to lay all over his back? In two fights?

You couldn't be any more wrong. Wlad clinched and mugged off Peter even worse in the rematch. Since he was back in Germany he went all out and nothing was going to stop him.
Even the Germans started boo'ing him. And Germans boo'in their own fighter is unheard of. Which tells you all you need to know about this clown.

Blown up fat an old MW Toney fought Peter for 24 rounds and never had to desperately hold and run to stop him trying to box like Wlad did.

As Vlad, Ali used to clinch smaller opponents quite a bit.

Yes. Undeniably. But nowhere near as much as Wlad still.

And Wlad won't be able to clinch with Fury, he will be met with sledgehammers to the face and leave the ring on a stretcher.

                  • What Wlad does can't even be called clinching. It's more like some sort of modified wrestling move, as far from regular clinching as a knee in the knackers is to a punch below the belt. It's a completely disgusting and flagrant breach of the rules that there is literally no legal way to counter. If the ref doesn't enforce it the opponent is forced to cheat in order to avoid the debilitating effects of a 240lbs man leaning on their back. Haye repeatedly dropped to his knees to avoid it and ended up taking a count, Chambers tried to throw Wlad and was warned. Povetkin should have lowblowed him to death but was too much of a gentleman to do so. And if that wasn't bad enough, Wlad spends entire rounds grappling more than he actually throws punches. What Mayweather and Ward do in comparison isn't even a fraction as bad, and I dislike watching both men.

If the referee permits it then he's either incompetent or utterly corrupt. In either case it's up to the opponent to take matters into his own hands, and since Wlad's clinching does not permit of any legal way to break out of it the opponent is forced to cheat, which you can be sure the referee will pick up on and penalise (see Haye, Chambers fights).

Don't even go there. Povetkin was mugged senseless in that fight and was in no way to blame for any of the innumerable clinches, tackles and dry humps that occurred in that utter abomination of a title defence. Proof? Just look at the pattern of their fights outside that one. With the exception of the Huck fight where he was badly hurt, Povetkin is an exceptionally clean fighter who repeatedly works on the inside and who is repeatedly involved in exciting back and forth brawls. Now look at Wlad who acts like an octopus every time he steps in the ring. History? Yeah, there's a history alright, just not of the fighter you want it to belong to.

Except they aren't remotely comparable. Both men box far more than they clinch, and in the case of Ward work from the clinch. Wlad spends more time dry humping his opponents and trying to wear out their legs with his 240lbs frame than he ever does boxing

The correct answer you're looking for is because he's a fucking bitch who knows he can get away with murder and won't get penalised in the slightest by any of his paid off hometown refs.

But keep thinking it's some racial thing if you want. That seems to be the only way your mind can process anything.
