  • I'm a fan of Fury, but he isn't the guy to beat Wlad. The experience gap is too much of a factor and Wlad is too crafty to get caught with something big. Wlad vs. Wach is a good example of how this will fight play out. I can see Fury eating sledgehammer jabs all night long. Regardless, it will be nice to see someone around the same height and build who can force Wlad to actually box!

Christ, Wlad was boring at that press conference.

His personality is really like his style in the ring. Exceptionally boring and uninteresting.
      Still butthurt. Daaaaaaammnnn.

The only thing Wach and Fury share is their size. That might result in a more aggressive Wlad with fewer clinches but that's where it ends. Fury's a much better mover than Wach and just possesses a higher skillset in general. He also doesn't have the luxury of an Easter Island chin to keep taking unanswered blows without visible harm, so either way he's not going to be eating jabs all night.

For me I think the fight's going to resemble the first Tony Thompson bout, a fighter Fury shares much more in common with (though he's better). Expect to see Wlad get pushed here.

        • Wach would be a DEFINITE faourite against Fury!!

          Make no mistake!

Fury has never faced a decent tall fighter, nor one as hefty and strong as Wach, nor one with as hard a chin, or hard fists. Nor one as "tehnically sound" either (as limited as Wach is, he is skill-wise much better than given credit for).

Just look at the Fury record! Wach, even iif Fury COULD win, would be the best opponent Fury ever beat!!!

          No no no no....

Until Fury ACTUALLY beats a guy like Wach, he doesn't get this sort of credit!!

Why would someone ranked just inside the top forty be considered a definite favourite over an undefeated top ten fighter like Fury?

Haye was definitely not humbled. I wish he had been, but from what I saw he was the same obnoxious prick as before.

I don't like this trend of fighters saying they're going to retire the first time they take a loss. It shows a lack of desire and professionalism, and cultivates a cash out attitude among younger fighters. There's nothing wrong with taking losses here and there provided you learn from them and come back stronger. That's what Wlad's done and it's something eminently admirable.

When Fury becomes champion I hope he brings that same dedication to the sport, even if he never takes a loss in his career.

Calling someone a pizza face is hardly worthy of Oscar Wilde, is it?

Wow, I'm blown away by the intelligence.

It is childish though. Because you're too dumb to understand it. You're one of those people that listens to a man speak a couple of big words with an accent and thinks "wow he must be smart".

Klitschko didn't say anything remotely intelligent. He just repeated whatever he said for the Haye fight.

It's boring. It was boring then and it's boring now.

I said his jab is more proven. It's one thing to set up a few right right hands against hopeless opponents with it, using it for more rounds against opponents who don't get knocked out by a wind blow is a whole other thing.

You asked who has Jennings knocked out or down with a body shot so I responded. And no, he wasn't headhunting. He was methodically breaking Szpilka down from round 4, only to knock him out in the final round.

He had a decent body work ( @ "great") against guys taller than him, that's all.

I agree, but stopping an undefeated HW without issue > going life and death with a career CW in his third fight at HW.

Anyway, it looks like we're going nowhere with this debate, lets just enjoy the fight and hope that the better man (Wladimir Klitschko) wins.
Dimitrenko, Ustinov and 45 year old TT? I'm blown away. Didn't one of those guys lose to Alex Leapai?

Didn't Ustinov get stopped by a jab of Pulev? So much so for the whole myth of opponents eh? Btw, who's Ustinov ever beaten?

Stiverne was a million times better than all of those three, and Wilder controlled him with his jab. It was impressive. And he did it without holding (note, Klitschko).

Lol, sure. No fanboyism from me. Don't say stuff like "the better man"

Klitschko is boring, that's the bottom line. Just listening to the press conference reminded me how boring he is. It's everything about him that just puts me straight to snooze mode.

And one one man shouting progressively louder and louder over the other is not ?

I'll remind you of another quote from the Haye-Klitschko affair, talk is cheap.
