I have ZERO desire to meet and/or hang out with any public figure. Most of the public figures I'm familiar with are entertainers of some sort. And that's my use for them, to entertain myself. And when they're done entertaining me, I have no further use for them. Honestly, I don't even understand why people are in awe of, and/or want to be around total strangers who happen to be on TV. More times than not, they don't wanna be bothered with Joe Public. And when they do comply, its for PR. And personally, I don't blame them for not wanting to be bothered with fans. All they owe us is to perform when we purchase the right to see them do what they do. And personally, I think fans that get offended when a celebrity doesn't give them the time a day is completely delusional and borderline loser.

I guess you really wouldn't care to meet Floyd or maybe any celebrity. But I'm not talking about bugging a celebrity for an autograph or something. I wouldn't do that. And I'm not talking about meeting just any celebrity. Me, I could give a **** about meeting any politician, anyone in Hollywood, most singers, but there are some athlete in different sports that I like to watch (not idolize, I stopped that after I grew up) that I think would be cool to talk to if given the chance. A friend of mine won some contest where he got to hang out with the NFL football player Eddie George (obviously quite a few years ago) where George was promoting a video game or something. My friend said they just hung out playing the game and George was a cool guy to talk to. Told him all kinds of interesting things about the sport and players. So when you say a chance to meet Floyd, I'm thinking a chance to actually talk to him in a more private scenario rather than a handshake and autograph. Love him or hate him, I can't see how a boxing fan wouldn't like that opportunity. Maybe you wouldn't but I think most of would think it'd be a pretty cool thing to do.

Speaking of Eddie, I live in Nashville. And a pretty close friend of my family is really good friends with Eddie. Eddie actually works out at his gym. And yes, Eddie is a nice guy.

As for Floyd, I don't find anything about what he puts out for the public that would make me wanna have any personal interaction with him. And I have that feeling about most public figures. I do realize I'm probably in the minority on that one thoughm

Indeed. It would be nice if the centerpiece of boxing was more than a boxer-fencer incapable of stopping Glass Joe. Might actually help the sport, but no.
