at you calling him "rick" like you are boys. even if what he says is true, that still means that floyd is promoted by goldenboy. here's what a promotor actually does:


goldenboy promotions promotes floyd mayweather. he signs a contract that says he will fight 12 rounds on this date, make this weight on this date or face a penalty, etc. he gets a garanteed purse, and a piece of the ppv. do you understand what all of that means?

goldenboy takes in all revenue from ppv sales, minus a fee / percentage to the cable provider. they also get money from sponsors, and in some cases they will even get money from a casino for hosting the fight. MGM has done this. arum does this in macau china. from there they calculate their expenses, and pay taxes on the money that is left over.

their expenses include floyd mayweather's salary, and a percentage of the ppv after a certain amount of buys.

after their expenses, they pay taxes. whatever is left is called "profit," and they keep it. floyd does not do that on his own fights. he does not promote them. he doesn't even have a license to promote in nevada.


floyd might pay a fee to goldenboy, but they are his promotors. it's not the only money they're taking in from ppv, i assure you. they take in whatever remains after their expenses, which include floyd's salary.
