Did sucker punching a defenseless man apply to this rule or only for Floyd? You dont play boxing
You fight
If I was a pro fighter I would do everything to make sure that I compete on fair playing field.
Random drug testing before and after the fight, me and my opponent wear the same gloves, commission checking hand wraps thoroughly before the fight
thousands of fighters have died or suffered injuries because of negligence, cheaters, and PED
Some people say "health comes first" like its an insult....if it was you in the ring it wouldComment

Touching story bro....But truth is that if he's worried about getting punched in the face then retire from BOXING. He doesn't need to money so why even risk it.Couldn't agree more.. I've been in the ring a lot and its one thing to sit and type about how he's a diva this and that but fact is he is 37 and if he decides that as the A side he wants to protect the last bit of his career so he can enjoy the rest of his life problem free (didn't make these demands as a young fighter) then so be it ... I would do the same .... he has a family and ice after entertaining us stillComment

Health should come first. You can tell that most people that call fighters cowards, wish for their death in the ring and other disgusting bs
most likely have need been in the ring and probably never had a 1 on 1 physical altercation in their life. In real life their the real cowards.
Especially when you fight at the elite professional level The fighters fists are basically weapons.
Other sports you risk your knees, arms, ankles ect. Boxers put their brain at risk primarily , I read This book " We are our brains " and the info In there is crazy how the brains of boxers is effected by the sport. Something like 80% suffer premature early brain damage, 17% develop early full blown dementia the stats are insane.
There's lots of boxers I don't like but you need to give them their props and give them credit for what their risking every time they step in the ring.Comment

Larry, horse hair gloves are probably healthier for a fighter to get hit with over foam gloves. I would rather get knocked out clean and stopped, than to get hit repeatedly and dizzy for all 12 rounds. Sometimes what appears to be safer, isn't. Bringing back bare knuckle fighting would probably be the safest rule to bring back to the sport, but that will never happen.well then **** you. a fighter needs to look out for them self
i did not force my son to do ****..it is what he loves..it is what i love..it is in our blood..but no way in hell are we dumb enough to risk our life to make sure you have a great night..it is called SELF DEFENSE..HIT AND NOT GET HIT!!!! no way would i train my son to be an idiot..but people like you who have never owned a pair of gloves or a heavy bag let alone actually went to a gym and fought would have no idea what this means..Comment
