Its not always who you fight its how you deal with them.
Light hitting Adamek... are you seriously ****ting me?
Ali was in his mid 30's and was past his prime and on the decline when he fought Young, less then 24 months after he fought Young he lost to Spinks. While Fury is in his prime and struggled with a much smaller fighter that is well past his prime. Young was also much younger then Ali and he was basically the same height. Young also came in at 209 and Ali came into the fight at a fat 230. While Fury had more then a six inch height advantage and a 45 pound weight advantage as well. He is also like 12 years younger then Steve.
So, in my opinion you have a really weak argument. Because if Fury is so great he should have dominated Steve. Instead he was actually losing the fight on the cards when he cheated to win the fight. However, I do agree with one thing you said or at least I partially agree.
And that is that I used the wrong words when I said that Adamek was light hitting. So I will correct myself by saying that his power is way overrated. Much in the same way that Sergio Martinez's was overrated after he stopped Paul Williams. Adamek has a 55% KO percentage and he has no real power at HW. And I am huge fan of his and I truly hope that he is done and he retires.
In closing I will go back to the question you asked me. What was it, what was my point? If I have not made it clear I will make sure I do it now.
Fury is in my opinion nothing more than a loud mouthed trash talker that has done little to nothing to back it all up. And personally I don't believe he is capable of doing so. Fury also has a fan base that seems to completely ignore the facts, or come with excuses, when he looks horrible against very average or even below average fighters. But who cares because after all he is only in it to get paid, right?Last edited by Ravens Fan; 07-18-2014, 01:57 PM.

Ali was dropped hard by a left hook from Cooper, right at the end of a round, and if Angelo Dundee hadn't taken a razer and split one of Ali's gloves - which he admitted doing - to buy some extra time, Ali would never have recovered in time to continue. He was GONE.
Also, it really makes me laugh when I see an American fan saying Fury should have been dq'd for using his forearm in a clinch vs Cunningham. If that rule was applied in US rings Floyd would have been dq'd in every damn fight he's ever had. Chavez Sr was also an absolute master of the art of using the forearms to set up hooks at close quarters. Was he ever dq'd for it?

Personally, I think he overstepped the mark. I know it's a fight but it's also a sport. There was some pretty witty stuff coming from him but the abuse spoiled it imo.

As far as the torn glove in the Cooper fight is concerned it is a matter of folklore. Because it was proved many moons ago that the glove was in fact torn during the fight. But it was also obvious that Ali was dropped and hurt and he may of even been stopped if not for the extra time. With that said even if Ali was stopped by Cooper I am sure he still would have went on to the ATG career that he had. Sort of like Louis after Max stopped him. However, there is still a huge difference between the two fights.
The difference was that Ali dominated Cooper up until he was knocked down and he stopped Cooper in the very next round. And he didn't have to cheat to do it. They were also the same height and Ali only outweighed Cooper by 20 pounds.
As for Fury versus Cunningham, Tyson was losing the fight on the cards when he stopped Steve. He also, unlike Ali, has had the snot knocked out of him and even dropped by very average fighters on a regular basis. Something that, for what reason, Fury's fan conveniently seem to forgot about.
As for the foreman to the throat if any fighter does it they should be disqualified regardless of their nationality or how poplar they may be. Especially if the foul helps to knock out your opponent. But at least you didn't act as if it didn't happen so there may be hope for you after all.
I also want to say that I was never the biggest Ali fan. However, I had respect for him because he backed up his trash talking with his actions in the ring. I also don't recall Ali ever being as foul as Fury seems to be. I honestly believe its uncalled for.
It also seems to be a sign of desperation that Fury's fan want him to fight in the MMA or trying to compare him to Ali before he even wins a fight against a legit top ten fighter. I guess that is how desperate you become when your nation only produces a heavyweight champion every century or so.

Ali would of done the same thing if he was put in the same place by some old high and mighty fart that has to ask something that is absolutely irrelevant to the press conference...
Tyson Fury should of demanded the guy got kicked out.

As for Cooper's weight in the first fight vs Ali, Jim Wicks, Cooper's manager, leaned on Henry's shoulder as he stood on the scales to bump his weight up duing the weigh in. This is part of British Boxing folk-lore, so I wouldn't expect you to know about it, but that's what happened.
Ali stopped Cooper on cuts, btw, in both their fights, but had a hard time with Henry in each till Cooper's eyes opened up.
