He had a good run and gave us so many exciting fights but his body will no longer hold up to the punishment, and it can cost him so much if he doesn't back down asap. Hope he can realise how much he can lose and finds something else to do. He might be too much of a warrior for his own health and well being.
Very well stated. I completely agree.

Too bad we didn't get the Juanma vs. Gamboa super fight when they were both undefeated.

I really enjoyed this man's fights and don't want to see him with serious permanent damage. What a hardy fighter.

I've always liked JuanMa a lot. Dude's a warrior. He never got enough credit for that. Too many people were blinded by hate, even many of his own peeps, who thought Lopez was trying too hard to be Tito.

Honestly, I didn't buy much into the Ponce KO. I mean, I was impressed JuanMa still had it in him, but Ponce was done himself. And he put Lopez on his ass anyway! SMH

Bro, that furious exchange those guys went into...I was like, "WTF is JuanMa doing?!" He's got too much heart for his own good (if that even makes sense). Time to hang 'em up, champ.

The guycan not add 1+1 but if he wants 2 go on, his health/ not mine ..he really does not have much $$$ but his last 3 losses have been health concerns...

He has had awful corners and his style was a one punch KO guy. He needs to take 1 year and train with a proper guy. Fight a couple bums. He has power but thats all. No head movement and his foot work is atrocious. He follows guys around the ring since he started fighting. If he really wants to keep fighting which is probably what he is going to do it's his living, he needs a whole new direction and training.

I don't think Juanma can beat a Top 10 super featherweight at this point. Make Gamboa vs Juanma. That would be 3-4 years too late, but better late than never I guess.

The guy is a shot fighter, all he has is a punch. When your offense is your defense but you have no chin. You are bound to get KO'd. Only positive is that he has a fan friendly style. But he definitely should call it quits.

He wants to be champ? He can but like I've said before it has to be against a non puncher.. Face ex champs and non punchers,, I knew he would get wobbled in this fight because he has never responded we'll to getting hit back, whether it's at 122,126 and now at 130,it's not him being weak from the weight it's just that's how he is.. I still hope he gets a shot at the title but like I said against a weak puncher

Juanma needs to retool everything around his camp if he wants to continue but only after a long layoff and seeing a neurologist for a round of testing. Any promoter who makes Juanma vs Gamboa at this point should be thrown in jail. Gamboa was going to destroy Juanma even before his losses to Salido but now he would likely put him in a coma. Juanma has had a great career and is a huge star in this sport. He should not have to be carried from the ring on a stretcher before he hangs em up.

I enjoyed Lopez fights. He is a warrior and I think now the 2 victories against Ponce mislead him. On the first fight, Lopez KOed Daniel so easily and probably JML fell in love with his power believing he was on top of the world. I think that Mtagwa was the first reality check and later Salido confirmed the Rican limitations. Then after losing to Garcia, Ponce came again and some people thought Lopez still could be relevant. Ponce finally understood there was nothing else to get and retired while Lopez still thinks he has a chance.
