What has Kirkland done to earn his shot besides sit on his ass, criticize his trainer and ***** about boxing politics?

If you want these action fighters to get big opportunities then they need to earn it just like everybody else does.
Since when did anyone have to earn a shot at Canelo? he's not even a champion and arguably lost three of his last four fights. It's not much different to earning a shot at Chavez Jr and no one ever says that.

The guy doesn't even fight in his supposed weight class.

anyway respect canelo's ambition to take on all fighters

        probably needs a new trainer

and lara didnt throw enough because he didnt want to risk getting caught, otherwise he would've fought more like he did against angulo and trout.
The only reason canelo takes on anyone is because he knows his daddy oscar bought him the judges already

No, I give Canelo credit. Personally, I thought he beat Lara and Trout.

Where I take issue is the notion that anyone has to "earn" the right to fight him, particularly not those who have been doing it a lot longer and been winning more convincingly.

Trout was more proven when he fought Canelo, he didn't have to earn it. Same goes for Lara, and the same goes for Carlos Molina and to Kirkland. Canelo is not above these guys, he's the same level, if not slightly below due to inexperience.

              Well. They do.

Canelo is the future cash cow and the fighter of choice if a guy wants that payday, so there is a long queue for guys who wanna fight him, so you do have to do something to ''earn'' that fight.

So does Andre Ward, Carl Froch, Sakio Bika and Arthur Abraham have to earn a shot at Chavez Jr?

It's the same principle, these guys are already at the same level or actually above Chavez despite his greater marketability.

They don't have to earn anything.
