I knew it would only be a matter of time before Floyd started biding Randy Orton, the "face" of the WWE. Floyd suddenly comes up with being the "face" of boxing after watching wrestling lol. He really has lost so much buzz. This Maidana fight is a fight nobody really cares about. Nobody gave a shizit the first time. It was a decent scrap but only Maidana fans want to see an encore. The worst thing about fighting subpar competition is rematching subpar competition after a clear win the first time. I guess he didn't learn from the PPV numbers the first time around. That or Showtime's Espinoza is just a clown that has no spine to demand a tough match up for 32 million f'in dollars

Wow. You are splitting hairs. It's okay because De la Hoya put it in the contract but not okay because Floyd's representatives caught it on the day of. Should one really have to put in the contract that they will not allow their opponent to wear gloves that have had the padding around the knuckle shifted around and manipulated? With that logic Naazim Richardson should not have been allowed to stop Margarito's trainer from wrapping his hands with plaster of Paris because it wasn't in the contract.

Where is the document that says the padding was shifted and manipulated? And why wasn't any person disciplined?

The gloves controversy remains a hot topic. In the first fight between Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana, Mayweather objected to a set of gloves that Maidana wanted to wear and then to a second set of the same kind of gloves. Maidana ended up entering the ring on fight night wearing a different kind of Everlast.

Now, with Maidana saying the gloves situation hasn’t been resolved for the rematch — Maidana wants to wear his preferred type — Mayweather was asked about the situation in an interview with a small group of reporters on July 14.

The real comparison between Maidana and Margarito lies in that they both have granite chins, sledgehammer fists, and are similar in that they both are stylistic nightmares for any version of Floyd.

Why is there no one complaining about Maidana trying to cheat or at least willing to consider the possibility that he actually did try to get in the ring with gloves where the padding had been moved away from the knuckle?

Because he ****ing didn't and the gloves were fine.

No one from Maidana's team had touched them. They were brand new out of the ****ing box. There was absolutely nothing wrong with them, they were exactly the same as the other pairs the commission did allow, they just rejected the first pair because Floyd and Ellerbe were being f*ggots about it.

Spade a spade. Mayweather was shaky about beating Maidana with Maidana's preferred gloves on, or at least the punishment that Maidana could potentially dish out. Had he just spotted Maidana the gloves at least and beat him, this would all be water under the bridge.
