As a subscriber and boxing fan I couldn't care less about him. Would much rather have seen Rigondeaux get that air time instead.
Frustrating, isn't it? But it is what it is.

I understand he had it 116-112 Alvarez. My guess is he didn't bat an eye at 117-111.
My favorite quote/tweet from him that night:
"Round One, Canelo Easily" - one of the few rounds EVERYONE ELSE watching scored for Lara without hesitation. And so it began.

The deal has less to do about ratings than it does about whatever arrangement was made with Top Rank to get him showcased.

That said... it's HBO2 on a Saturday afternoon. Not much money or ratings are involved in that equation.

              Heh, heh, heh...

He just doesn't like boxers, which is fine, I guess, as long as you don't allow it to taint your scoring. I remember he had Rigo-Donaire fairly tight. Judging from his articles, I get the sense that he considers it a personal mission to promote blood & guts action in boxing. His writings on Mayweather offer begrudging praise at best, whenever there's praise at all.

I think it's ironic that the biggest supporters of Rigo and his tentative style are the same internet hardcore boxing "purists" that stream every PPV and even premium cable and have never so much as left their state to see a professional fight live. And they're the most vocal about wanting to see him too. Where were all you cats for the Agbeko fight? Probably streaming it I'll bet.

It is hard to find three judges in the world that can spell Koietgym and see well enough to fill out a scorecard.
