The highlight was
Mayweather challenged Maidana to put his purse up for bet by signing a paper and handing it to Maidana which Maidana did not sign and he responded later by saying he will bet it up against him if he is allowed to wear his gloves.

So Mayweather is not allowing him to wear Everylast MX gloves and wants to make a bet for his entire purse but he does not have faith that he can beat Maidana unless Maidana is wearing some Sparring gloves?

I think it is very telling that Maidana is willing to put up 100% of his purse if he is allowed to wear his perferred Brand and style of gloves and Mayweather is not even willing to put up 3% of his purse unless he gets to pick the gloves Maidana wears.

First of all, why did you even quote yourself? You dont even know the proper name of the gloves. They're called PowerLock not Padlocks. Second of all, it was already reported that Ellerbe said no horse hair gloves.

Mayweather has been in many boxing matches. Over the years, he has come to the realization that gloves with extra padding don't do as much damage as the puncher's gloves.

This is yet another asterisk on his already-tainted legacy -- he can't beat the real Maidana, just the Nerf'd Maidana. And he didn't even beat him, really. Why the **** is there a rematch? Because Mayweather got his ass kicked. Maidana is too strong, too wild, too experienced, takes too many risks. Mayweather is just a technician who had to use all of his tools to survive against Chino. And he has no power. Very boring boxer.

What's the point of the rematch if he's not allowed to wear the Mx gloves? Wtf? Completely pointless but completely expected. This is a real ****** fight.

Mayweather doesn't want to get rocked or knocked down or, even worse, knocked out.

It's simple: If you let a puncher wear puncher's gloves, you're going to get knocked out. Mayweather knows this. The power transfer a big puncher like Marcos Maidana gets with puncher's gloves is very significant. That's why he uses them!

A puncher wearing a puncher's glove is a multiplier for punching power. Like the cherry on top. Like putting resin on a top-shelf nug.

If you ever played any MMO's or RPG's it's like a little upgrade. A little upgrade that makes a big difference over time. If you ever played Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 it's like having the perk stopping power. Or in CoD WaW, like juggernaut.

I saw the video. The gloves that were sky blue didn't look like they had much padding to me.

You realize Floyd had no wraps on his hands when he tried on Maidana's gloves right? it doesn't have a uniform foam barrier, you can "touch the knuckle" through pretty much any 8oz horsehair glove, if you jam your finger down on one spot when you ain't wearing wraps, hence this LAUGHABLE charade.

An everlast rep is on recorded saying the packaging was different with the custom gloves because they were custom decals like the Argentinian colors and sun. But the structural integrity of the glove itself was the same as a standard mx. Robert, Maidana, and co. Had not touched the gloves or tampered with them.

Bottom line, Floyd ain't as confident of himself as he seems, otherwise he would not try to "Nerf up Maidana" (thanks punchr), and he would have fought a prime Manny.

Why would Floyd let Maidana use gloves with no padding? It's hard to tell if you guys really think the gloves are a big deal. Or if you guys hate Floyd so much you want to use this as a way to discredit the win. You guys complain about Floyd's every move it's really getting hard to tell.

Do you have this same standard for every fighter or just floyd? For example, floyd wasn't allowed to wear his gloves against ODH yet still beat him. Does that enhance the win?

DOes every fighter that has chosen the opponents gloves have all their wins tarnished IYO?

Just be an adult. Your issue isn't with the gloves, its with floyd's power. Thats ok if you hate it that floyd uses his power in this fashion. Just don't pretend its about glove choice because if it truly was, you would have raised the issue before.
