Comments Thread For: Mayweather: Maidana is Dirty, Cotto/Canelo Are Better

NEW YORK – Eleven-time world champion Floyd "Money" Mayweather and former welterweight titlist Marcos "El Chino" Maidana held an announcement press conference in Times Square on Monday to formally announce their highly anticipated rematch taking place Saturday, Sept. 13 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, live on SHOWTIME PPV®.

Monday’s press conference kicked off a five-city, open-to-the-public promotional tour that will see the fighters visit the boxing hotbeds of Washington, D.C., Chicago, San Antonio and Los Angeles.

Their first meeting this past May was an epic 12-round welterweight world championship showdown that was arguably the toughest and most exciting fight of Mayweather’s brilliant career. Maidana attacked Mayweather with ferocity and fearlessness, landing more punches on the pound-for-pound champ than anyone he has faced in his undefeated career.

Tickets for the live event go on sale tomorrow/Tuesday, July 15 at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT and are priced at $1,600, $1,200, $850, $600 and $350, not including applicable service charges and taxes. Tickets are limited to eight (8) per person with a limit of four (4) at the $350 price range. To charge by phone with a major credit card, call Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000. Tickets also are available at www.mgmgrand.com or www.ticketmaster.com.

They're both dirty. The ref allowed a free-for-all in the first fight.

The cut didn't come from a punch?

This is all we're gonna hear from Floyd from now until September, and then a ref will be appointed to keep the fighters at a distance so Floyd can pot-shot his way to a win.

Yes, because pushing off with the elbows and holding is somehow equal to rabbit punches, knees, punching in the nuts.

I thought it was funny he was crying about Maidana elbow and forearm when Mayweather is the king of that. Its funny they like to dish it but cant take it. Hell even at one point mayweather tried to suffocate Madiana lol that Attempted Murder lmfao.

Man I wish Miss Jackson shows up to one of the press conference and just starts cheering. CHINO! CHINO! CHINO!

There is no strategy for dirty fighting, MW should have never rematched this one.
