Should be a easy show case fight for Canelo. I like Kirkland but you never know which Kirkland is going to show up.

As for Cotto Canelo. I agree it should happen now rather than later. My only fear is Canelo will be at 180 on the night of the fight if he fights Cotto. While Cotto will be at 156 fight night.

I don't think it would suit either of them to be as big as 180. Anyway, Cotto was 160 for some of the his fights several years ago, he's not going to be lower than that for Canelo.

This thread has been interesting. Canelo appears to be fighting Kirkland next, not Cotto as most posters want. Compare to the annopucement that matts and Broner wouldn't be fighting on 9/6. Many of the same posters in this thread were mad because "we are not getting the fight we want", which was broner matthysse. I would expect the same outrage here.

As I said in that thread even though we are not getting the fight "we want" or "should", we may get a good fight instead that we can enjoy.

Cotto duck Canelo Three times already, before Mayweather (for ovious reasons) after Mayweather-before Trout, and before Martinez with a 10 mil purse + all the Puertorican PPV, so what makes you "Idiot" think that Canelo is duking Cotto?

O I wasn't coming at you I was answering your question about the Ishida fight. I just don't know how else you can explain Kirkland going through hell and back with Tapia and Angulo and then getting beat by that scrub. Had to be Anne Wolfe!

Definitely watch Tapia - Kirkland though. Just as good as Kirkland-Angulo! Was nuts! Kirkland definitely needs a round to warm up but once he gets going it's nasty!



You ever see kirkland-angulo? It was when Canelo was picking on nobodies and junior welterweights like Lopez. It was when Angulo was the baddest Mexican in the weight class. Not that shot ass version Canelo fought. Minus the first round Kirkland marked him worse too!

You conveniently forget to mention the schooling Carlos Molina put on Kirkland just to be robbed by the ref in the 11 round. Canelo is way faster than Molina so do your math fan boy.

Maybe it's a business decision, Canelo recently stated he intended to fight on Mexican holidays from now on. Canelo vs Cotto on Cinco De Mayo would give Mayweather a run for his money..........Canelo vs Kirkland not so much.
