As most expected, a mega-fight between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) and Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) will have to wait until next year. Canelo's manager and co-trainer, Jose "Chepo" Reynoso met with Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya and they decided that a fight with Cotto is better suited for May 2015. Cotto is slated to defend his WBC middleweight crown in December.

"On Sunday we met with Oscar to discuss the future of Canelo. A fight with Cotto is a natural, but probably we should wait until May 2015," Reynoso said.

He is going to fight a washed up Kirkland then Cotto when he is a year older. That is a way of ducking, why not fight Cotto 1st while he is more into his prime? And u said Canelo ducks no one.

A fight against Kirkland should be a ****er but no way Kirkland deserves Canelo at this point. Cotto will also be an old man by the time Canelo fights him. Either way, you have to love Canelo. The guy will take on anyone in his division.
