It’s true, his unbeaten record is empty. It’s all about money & ego now. Nobody wants to fight a potentially dangerous guy without a name in the US. That’s why he’s had to wait until he was mandatory. Porter’s unbeaten resume is also weak.

Kell’s ring rust and the size of the occasion will benefit Porter, but in terms of skill/power/speed it’s an even fight. It’s always worth betting on a fight with ****** odds.

IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter says he wants to reach across the Cold War battlefield and fight a Top-Rank affiliated fighter at some point.

Porter, who meets Kell Brook at Stub Hub Center Aug. 16, is managed by Al Haymon and promoted by Golden Boy. Since Richard Schaefer left Golden Boy, there is hope that boxing will see more of "interleague play," so to speak.
