If he wants to price himself out, good. This fight sucks anyway.

Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Fight in Doubt, Algieri Wants More Money

everybody is saying take the money but when you look at it closely, they offered him 1.5 million with a percentage of the PPV sales.
OK, Rios got 4 million. Now granted Rios has a bigger name, but Algieri is coming off a win. A big upset win. He's hot right now. Plus, based on the comments on this forum regarding this fight, one would think that this PPV would not be a "best sellar". For all we know, his percentage off the PPV does not kick in unless they do over a million buys.
Although the 1.5 sounds good to our broke asses, it's really a s/ht offer based on what pass Manny opponents received.
I think Algieri would accept the fight for 2 mil without the PPV percentage. But I'm just speculating like most folks.

Smart move by Algieri, if you know you are going to get beat up bad, then ask for more money or just walk away. I'd like to see Pac take the Argentine anyway.

Algieri is trying to get paid like everyone else. The fight might may not be that good but you can't blame him for wanting more money. If Arum choose to pay him that much then it's a smart move. If not, I'm sure HBO will throw him in there with some bums so he can work his way up to making that kind of money.

So hold on...he thinks he deserves more money than maidana? Mofo nobody knew you 6 weeks ago. He fought provodnikov for like a quarter mill. Let that mofo try his hand at HBO then...let hbo give him another quarter mill and he can lose his belt for 250g's instead of $1.5 mill gtfo.
