Pretty sure they're just putting together a showcase with names to highlight the bigger fight next week.
Guess they didn't want to put more money in the undercard and just run a very expensive commercial instead with Showcase boutsComment

Hahaha, you Matthysse fans never fail to make me laugh, this admiration is starting to become borderline obsession. No he beat the shit out of a guy clearly bigger then him you fucking ******. Can't stand dipshit poster s like you. Im gonna start going in hard on you faggots. Be ready bitch.
Anyways.... As a Matthysse fan, I disprove of this BS. Unlike a lot of dudes here I want to see my favorite fighters matched tough.
Anyway, after struggling in his last fight with an ESPN caliber fighter, it makes sense they give him a fight like this to get his confidence back, they certainly wouldn’t be putting him in with a puncher at his natural weight class after his last fight, thats too risky.Comment

I think what we have here is Espinoza overthinks too much and has 'corporate-ized' the living daylights out of Showtime boxing. And he certainly is way too safe when he talks about it. Then we have Haymon who is really a two-edged sword: Good for the fighters with their paychecks, bad for the sport with the lame matchups. Now if Espinoza were boxing smart, he'd see that and call b.s. on Haymon. Stand his ground. Haymon would cave if he knew Espinoza wasn't putting up with that b.s. anymore.
As for Perez, he is very good, very solid, and very committed to body shots. Gets good leverage and really throws there. But usually he stays inside too long and gets caught. And he himself doesn't take a solid body shot too well. Obviously Matthysse wins this one, but not the test we'd like to see.Comment
